St. Ia, St. Ives Parish Church Cornwall

Welcome to St. Ia, the parish church of St. Ives. It is one of the beautiful cornish churches that are part of the Anglican Diocese of Truro, England (Church of England, C of E). It is dedicated to the Celtic saint St. Ia, and also to St. Andrew, patron saint of Fishermen and St Peter, the Rock. The church is built of Cornish granite, almost on the harbourside of the picturesque seaside town of St. Ives. Its tower is one of the tallest of the cornish churches, standing over eighty feet high, like a shepherd watching over its flock on land and sea.

The present church building was consecrated in 1434, and many Christians have worshipped in the building over the centuries. In 2010 the church celebrated its 600th anniversary of the laying of its foundation stone. It was built for the Love of God as a house of prayer.

The church is open daily and welcomes visitors from all over the world. Please join us for our daily and Sunday worship. The Daily Divine Offices are said at the parish church throughout the week. These are normally led by the parish priest who can be found in the church during these times.

If you are thinking of marriage, the church is a beautiful venue for your wedding ceremony. Baptisms, counseling and confessions can also be made by arrangement with Father Andrew our parish priest.
