St Ia
What can I expect?
This is a service of sung Holy Communion in the Anglo-Catholic tradition and includes a robed choir, Sanctus bell, and incense on most weeks. The service begins with a focus on God’s word and leads into a celebration of communion. Whilst it may not be the tradition you are used to, we warmly welcome people from all backgrounds, whether local or visiting, to join us as we worship the living God together. There is a helpful service booklet which explains what we are doing as you journey through the service if you are unused to the tradition.
Expect a warm welcome and a chance to share fellowship over coffee after the service.
As well as being able to join us at one of our services, we try to keep the church open as much as possible and you will find the church open between 10 am and 4 pm every day. This is part of our service to the community, allowing locals and tourists to find a place of peace and spiritual refreshment in the middle of bustling St Ives.
Within the church, there are lots to see, including a painting by Bryan Pearce and a statue of the Madonna and Child, donated to the church by Barbara Hepworth. Click HERE to find out more.
